The Denim Skirt

The all-out denim trend is definitely a favourite of mine this season. Denim shirts, denim skirts, denim jumpsuits, denim everything! It's comfortable, fun and totally versatile.

Today I'm channeling one of my ultimate style crushes, Olivia Palermo, by wearing a knee length, button down denim skirt. Keeping it fun and day-time appropriate with a contrast trim slogan t-shirt and some cute tan accessories, it's the perfect bank holiday lunch date outfit. It could also easily be dressed up for the evening with a pair of killer stilettos, a cami and a red lip.

This particular denim piece can go from fun and quirky to drab librarian pretty easily so to keep the look young and fresh I recommend pairing with heels, leaving the last button or two undone to create the look of a split and probably avoiding any cardigans, no matter how chilly it gets.

Are you into the denim trend too? Tell me how you're wearing it!

When in Brighton...

Road tripping to Brighton is one of my favourite past times when the weather starts warming up. Strolling along the beach, shopping in the Lanes, eating brunch at Bill's and fish and chips along the Pier are all must-do activies when visiting the seaside city.

Having a day off yesterday and living only an hour or so away from Brighton, I made the spur of the moment decision to take a little day trip. We did all the necessary things, took all the cliche pictures and generally had a really lovely (but somewhat tiring) day.

Knowing we'd be doing a lot of walking and not really sure what the weather had in mind, I played it safe with a very laid back outfit of skinny jeans, flat boots and a leather jacket. A suede cami and a camel fedora added just a little touch of the seventies to my otherwise all-black, basic ensemble.

In true 'me' style, we ended the day with a cocktail before heading back home.

Are you a Brighton fanatic? What are your favourite things to do in the city?

London Coffee Festival 2015

Yesterday I took a trip to East London in the name of all things coffee... and chocolate... and booze.

The London Coffee Festival is a celebration of London's bustling and vibrant coffee scene. Industry experts and coffee connoisseurs gathered for an event filled with demonstrations, tastings, competitions and other coffee-themed fun. Whether you're a lover of latte art, a flat-white fanatic or partial to an espresso martini (or five) there was something there for all of us caffeine addicts.

It didn't stop at coffee though. There was music, art, clothes, food, tea, the list goes on. It was jam-packed full of passionate and creative people running really great independent businesses. I even saw a guy getting his hair done in the middle of one of the showrooms. Pretty cray.

After spending all afternoon at the festival my friends and I headed to Camden for a few drinks and some dinner. Overall it was a really fun day. I can definitely recommend the festival if you're a coffee fan, even if you don't know that much about it. It's just something a bit different to do on a Saturday afternoon!

Have any of you been to the London Coffee Festival, or something similar? I'd love recommendations for other cool things to do this summer!

April Style Crush: Gigi Hadid

April is always an interesting month for fashion as Coachella kicks off the festival season and we're inundated with pictures of celebrities, frolicking among the palm trees wearing fringing, denim cut-offs and loose beachy waves in their hair.

Gigi Hadid definitely ticked all those boxes and in my eyes won the battle for best dressed at Coachella. I mean, come on, that suede tassel cape is all my 70s festival dreams come true.

This girl has got the off duty model look down to a tee. She knows how to rock her basics with a statement piece thrown in for good measure. That Diesel studded leather jacket? Serious rocker-chick vibes right there... I wouldn't want to mess with this bad-ass woman that's for sure.

While she's got an absolutely babin' casual wardrobe going on, she's no stranger to getting her glad rags on as well. That tailored trouser suit paired with a slicked back ponytail she wore for New York Fashion Week is one of my favourite looks of hers. Ever.

She has an Instagram account full of stunning selfies, snapshots of her with her celeb BFFs as well as endless style inspiration. Follow at your self esteem's own risk

Who's style have you been loving lately??
